Henry Anyiam
Assistant Coach

Henry "Hank" Anyiam joined the men's basketball staff for the 2016-17 season and was elevated to the Gators' top assistant in 2018-19. During that time, SF State has made three consecutive trips to the CCAA Conference Tournament, a Conference Tournament Championship appearance, and an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II National Tournament. Anyiam has helped recruit, coach, and develop 10 All-CCAA players, including All-American Warren Jackson.

Off the court, Anyiam manages multiple operational aspects of the men’s basketball program which include lead recruiting coordinator, academic advising, and community service liasion. The men’s basketball team has maintained a team GPA well above 3.0, with an increase each season. He has also helped to increase the community service efforts of the men’s basketball program by building and maintaining relationships with local organizations such as the Janet Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center, Junior Giants, and The City Eats.

Prior to his time at San Francisco State, Anyiam spent four years as the JV boys basketball head coach and boys varsity basketball assistant coach for Terra Nova High School in Pacifica, California. After graduating from nearby Saint Ignatius College Preparatory in 2003, Anyiam attended San Jose State, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. In 2016, he earned his Master's Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia Irvine.
